The Help is a fine story about southern life in early 60’s Jackson, Mississippi. Kathryn Stockett’s protagonist, Skeeter is a young woman recently graduated from college returning home to find her lifelong maid is mysteriously gone and facing expectations of parents and friends to conform to the conservative society of the time. Skeeter has ambitions, frustrations and loneliness. She misses her maid and wonders what happened. She’d like to have a career as a writer or reporter. She’s not had much male companionship and her friends seem to more easily slip into the society roles that she finds confining. Skeeter is an empathetic person who stumbles into a secret collaboration with several of the other maids of friends to write a book recounting their experiences of working with the white families and living in Jackson. The book must be kept secret and is written with the intention that all the names are changed and events obscured enough to hide the identities of the maids and the writer; such were the times where the retribution for telling stories could get one in serious trouble and perhaps even killed.

It seemed like forever until we were finally able to purchase one of these, but I LOVE it. It’s so much fun. I’m not big on sitting down and playing video games all day on my butt, but this thing really gets you moving, even in your typical RPG games you have to move a little. A lot of fun and highly recommended. I originally wanted a different system, but I’m SO GLAD I got this one. If you’re not sure which system you want, GET THIS ONE!!!!
